Index Aureliensis, EDIT 16, 100.331 CNCE 171 First edition of a work by the great Italian philologist Mariangelo Accursio, consisting of a series of "castigationes" on various manuscripts of Ausonius, Solinus, and the Metamorphoses of Ovid. The final chapter, entitled Testudo, is a vigorous defence against an unknown attacker who had accused him of plagiarism. The book is dedicated to Johann Albert and Gumpert, two young Hohenzollern princes, and Accursio's pupils; the three traveled together in Germany, Lithuania, Hungary, and Poland. Translate
