According to Tiele, this translation was made by F. de Belle Forest from the 2nd Italian Plantin edition of 1581, and is superior to the translation from 1567. According to Voet, this is the cheaper edition with only one map ('pour ne charger de coust ceux qui ne voudront ou qui n'auront le moyen de les achapter' [from title page]). Voet, L.
