AnnotationTacuini sanitatis is a description (on 40 "tables") of 280 objects, chiefly foodstuffs, but also human activities and natural phenomena, which affect health; this edition includes woodcuts of each object by Hans Weiditz at the foot of each alternate page of text. Tacuini sanitatis was translated from the Arabic by Faraj ben Salim, the second and possibly the third work translated by Gerard of Cremona. The names of the 2nd and 3rd authors precede the titles of their respective works on the title page. Dedicatory letter signed: Ioannes Schottus. Signatures: A-M⁶ N-O⁴ P⁶; P6 is blank (86 leaves). Title printed in red and black; the tables, headings, and marginalia (p. 38-117) of the 1st work printed in red, the text in black. In roman type.
