AnnotationPortrait of Cornelius Agrippa on title page. Place of publication and printer taken from VD 16. Publication year taken from colophon. Includes some Hebrew text, tables with Hebrew letters, and illustrations of angelic scripts, Theban alphabet, and several other magical alphabets. Book 1 was first printed by itself in Antwerp by Johannes Grapheus in 1531, and simultaneously in Paris by Chrestien Wechel. The three books were first printed in 1533 by Johannes Soter in Cologne. There are 4 or five issues of this date, distinguished by typographical differences. Signatures: aa⁶ a-q⁶ r⁸ s-z⁶ A-G⁶ (G6 is blank). With woodcut illustrated initials and printed marginal notes.
