PSALM XXXIV (35), f. 19v.
In the center of the picture, the youthful psalmist flanked by two hostile groups armed with shields, spears and whips appeals to Christ-Logos, holding a shield and spear and flanked by six angels bearing bannered staffs, to stand up for his help (verses 1, 2, and 15). Two small lions at his feet threaten his 'soul' (verse 17). Below, three angels are attacking and 'scattering' soldiers who have spread snares for the psalmist, some of them caught in their own snares or falling into the pit which they themselves have dug (verses 4-8). The solitary figure at the right is the psalmist who has put on 'sack-cloth' and has humbled himself (verse 13). In the upper left, six people, the 'congregation,' are giving thanks in front of a sanctuary (verse 18).
