PSALM LVIII (59), f. 33r.
In the text the psalmist appeals to God to rise and save him from his enemies. Consequently the illustrator has drawn the Hand of God issuing from heaven above the bearded, cross-nimbed Christ-Logos who has risen from His throne to hasten towards the psalmist seeking protection from three of his enemies (verses 2-6, (1-5)). To the left below is a walled enclosure. Dogs are going 'round about the city' both within and without the walls (verses 7 and 15, (6 and 14)). To the right of the city a group of the wicked are seated about an empty table (verses 15-16, (14-15)): 'et famem patientur ... si vero non fuerint saturati'. Four angels in the heavens, armed with spears and arrows, are dispersing a number of the enemy who are at the right in the foreground (verse 12, (11)).
