In the center of the picture an angel on a rock is holding a scarf, the symbol of protection, over the head of the psalmist who is supplicating the Hand of God issuing from heaven (verses 2 and 3, (1 and 2)). Two men below the psalmist are shooting arrows (verses 4, (3) and 8, (7)) at a group of evil-doers lined up at the left (verse 7, (6)); one of the group shoots an arrow at the psalmist (verse 5, (4)). At the bottom of the picture two methods of sword-sharpening are illustrated (verse 4, (3)). Between them yawns a pit or snare (verse 6, (5)).
