Psalterium Latinum
Commentary

PSALM LXVI (67), f. 37r.
The psalmist is standing on an elevated rock in the center of the picture addressing the beardless, cross-nimbed Christ-Logos who leans from heaven holding a pair of scales, the symbol of his judgment referred to in verse 5, (4)) and blessing his people with his right hand (verse 2, (1)). Below to the left is a group of men and women, 'the nations upon earth' (verse 5, (4)) who are to be judged and have to give praise (verse 4, (3)). To the right in the opposite corner the 'yield' of the earth is represented by a tree, vines and grain (verse 7, (6)).
