PSALM LXIX (70), f. 39v.
The youthful psalmist with a beggar's wallet about his neck is appealing to the beardless, cross-nimbed Christ-Logos who has sent His angel, bearing a bannered cross-staff, to assist him. The motivation for the beggar's wallet is in verse 6, (5): 'I am poor and needy.' Below to the left an armed group of the 'enemy' is standing about or has fallen in 'confusion' (verses 3-4, (2-3)). In the opposite lower corner 'all those that seek thee' are rejoicing (verse 5, (4)).
