Pols the manuscript was purchased by the Rotterdam bookseller Dunk at the auction (J. van Baalen & zonen, Rotterdam) of the collection of P. G. J. Hoog van ter Aar in 1869. Dunk sold the book to M. S. Pols in 1885.
